Wavetable

Wavetable is a water based MIDI controller that uses accelerometers to sense the waves made in the water. This project aims to explore new ways of interacting with digital music making software through unconventional means.

The reason I decided to base a MIDI controller on waves is because I think their motion will translate interestingly into MIDI data that can be used to manipulate values in a session.

Depending on how the musician sees fit, this instrument can be used as a live performance tool or a production performance tool. Personally I am heading towards using it more as a production tool for manipulating parameters in my Ableton sessions.


This project is still currently in progress and I am working to have it completed by the end of October to demonstrate in this space.
